Gary Scottow

I have been married to my wonderful wife and best friend Doris for over 31 years and have two great sons, Garrett & Dustin. We are all big Hokie fans(especially football) and try to attend and tailgate at as many games as we can each year. Doris, Garrett and I are Tech Alumni.

We have a 2 year old Golden Retriever named Lumen (which is Latin for `The light’) which we compete in Agility thru the AKC. He is our 4th Golden and really loves to run the course and its great exercise for us as well. His official AKC name is `Colebrook’s Heaven Let Your Light Shine Down’ because we think Goldens’ are a gift from God.

I love being on the water. I enjoy fishing and all kinds of water sports including white water rafting, canoeing, tubing and just cruising. I just learned to water ski for the first time this past month. Everyone thought I was crazy for letting my wife pull me behind our boat on a tube, but now more so on skis. You can teach an old dog new tricks!

My wife and I have been avid cooks for many years. We have perfected our pulled pork barbeque recipe after cooking smoked Boston butts for over 16 years now.

I am the third generation of my family born in the United States. My great grandmother was pregnant with my grandfather when they arrived at Ellis Island in 1906. They immigrated here from Great Britain. The majority of my family hail from Scottow, England.

My favorite thing about working with KBJW is the positive attitude of my fellow associates and the variety of projects that we have the opportunity to contribute our skills and abilities into providing solutions for our clients. These things make it enjoyable to come to work each day.
